Terms of Use
The short version
- Check what the AI reads from your receipts before you rely on it.
- Parchi Books helps you organise records. It isn’t tax, legal or accounting advice.
- Your data lives on your device. Keeping a backup, and keeping your backup passphrase or recovery key, is up to you.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Saada Labs LLC (“we”, “us”) for the Parchi Books app (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.
If you got the App from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”) also applies. Where these terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the Apple EULA controls. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
If you got the App from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also govern your purchase. Google is not a party to these terms.
2. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal or business record-keeping. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the App, except where the law allows this despite these terms.
3. AI scanning
The App uses artificial intelligence to read receipts. It is usually accurate, but it can misread store names, items, prices, taxes or totals, or miss items entirely. The App shows every scan for you to review before you save it, and flags totals that don’t match. You are responsible for checking and correcting what is saved.
Each plan includes a monthly scan allowance, shown in the App. We may adjust allowances and rate limits to keep the service available and to prevent misuse. If we lower your plan’s allowance, we will tell you in the App first.
4. Not tax, legal or accounting advice
The App can categorise expenses using IRS Schedule C categories, estimate deductions, log mileage at published IRS rates, remind you of quarterly estimated-tax dates and produce export files for you or your tax preparer. These are tools for organising your own records. They are not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. Tax rules change and depend on your situation. Deduction estimates are approximations. You are responsible for your tax filings; check them with a qualified professional.
5. Your data and backups
Your receipts and records belong to you. They are stored on your device, and we don’t have a copy (see our Privacy Policy). That means:
- if you lose your device, delete the App or wipe its data without a backup, your records cannot be recovered by us;
- backups are encrypted with a passphrase you choose and a recovery key you keep. We never have either, so if you lose both, your backup cannot be opened by anyone, including us;
- backups are stored in your own iCloud or Google Drive account, subject to Apple’s or Google’s terms and your available storage.
If you keep records for tax purposes, keep your own exports as well as backups.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
- Plans. Some features need a paid subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices, billing periods and any free trial are shown in the App before you buy, in your local currency.
- Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. We never see your payment details.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trials. If a plan includes a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel in your device’s account settings: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. After you cancel, paid features remain until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Google Play.
- Restoring. Use Settings → Plan → Restore Purchases to unlock a plan you bought on another device that uses the same Apple ID or Google account.
7. Acceptable use
Please don’t misuse the App or our scan service. In particular, don’t try to access the service other than through the App, overload or interfere with it, get around scan limits, or use it to process anything unlawful. We may suspend access to the scan service for use that breaks these rules.
8. Changes to the App
We keep improving the App and may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the App or a paid feature you have bought, we will give reasonable notice where we can, and your data on your device remains yours to export.
9. Disclaimer
Apart from what these terms expressly promise, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that scans will always be correct.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Saada Labs LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, tax benefits or penalties, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if that is greater. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is material, we’ll also tell you in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.
